Open records and public records requests provide a mechanism for citizens to inspect or copy government records. It also provides for instances in which governmental bodies may elect to, or are required by law to, withhold government records from the public. By complying with Louisiana Public Records Laws and the Freedom of Information Act, the Town of Jonesboro is committed to transparency within our local government. How to Submit A Public Records Request
Public records request are only accepted by mail, in-person, or by email. For an expiditious request process, please be as specific as possible when stating the types of records you are requesting. A Public Records Request Form must be completed by either the requester or the Town (if a request is submitted without a form to document it, processing the request may be delayed).
Louisiana law permits reasonable fees to recoup any costs associated with copying and printing.
