Mayor Bradford Thanks Legislators for Budget Stabilization, Funding

June 25, 2018

The Honorable James "Jim" Fannin
The Honorable W. Jay Luneau
The Honorable Jack G. McFarland

Dear Legislators:

On behalf of the Town of Jonesboro and the four thousand seven hundred and four citizens who call Jonesboro home, we thank you for voting in favor of stabilizing Louisiana's budget and an adequate revenue source ensure future success.

This vote was crucial for the future and stability of Louisiana. Because of your leadership and determination, Louisiana—and by extension, Jonesboro—is able to move forward toward economic prosperity. Because of your vote, all graduating seniors in Jackson Parish have the promise of the TOPS scholarship and access to the Louisiana GO Grant, Jackson Parish Hospital can continue to be a reliable source of healthcare of our community, our local District Attorney's office can remain fully operational and in service of justice, and social safety net programs that many of our elderly and low-income families rely upon to supplement their basic needs can continue to access quality healthcare and nutrition.

Votes like these are among the most important a legislator can make because their impacts are long-reaching for members of our community. Because you put the future and stability of Louisiana first, we thank you for your determination to do what is right.

It is not always easy, but it is always right.

With warm regards, I am,

James E. Bradford
